Just Gotta Crawl
Cooper is getting much more adept at crawling. He even is able to climb up a step (though getting down the step still presents a challenge, as you may notice in the video). He is now quite mobile and improving by the hour, it seems. Click on the link above, and I hope you enjoy the video!

I got a boo.

So Cooper found out the hard way how sharp the opening on a can of carbonated beverage tends to be. As he is a grabby little guy, he reached and grabbed said can after dinner one night last week. When the can was removed from his possession, Cooper ended up with a not-so-minor gash in his index finger. It bled quite a bit, and, being the good parents we are, we didn’t have any baby band-aids. So, Cubsdaddy drove quickly (but clamly, mostly) to the grocery store and bought some bandages.
He’s a quick healer, this one. He was back to normal in no time. It’s a bit freaky seeing your baby bleed all over the place, though. Not a great feeling at all.
Anyway, he’s been doing very well recently. I uploaded several photos, including this one, last night. Click on the photo to check out the others.

Cooper’s spiked hair
Originally uploaded by Cubs Daddy
So we went for a walk this weekend and thought it best to cake Cooper in sunscreen (SPF 1,000,000 I think it was). The result was Cooper’s first foray into hair design. Actually, it was Mommy’s design, but Cooper was the one that pulled it off, in my opinion. Enjoy!

I know the most recent videos all revolve around Cooper laughing. It’s not that this is all he does, I promise. But, it’s pretty much the cutest thing in the world right now, so that’s why we keep recording these little snippets. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
Note: it appears that the errors I was getting saying the videos are all private have been fixed. If this is not the case, please visit my flickr page by clicking on any of the other photos on my blog.

Since it seems that flickr is not allowing my videos to be accessed on the blog, I have stopped posting them here. Please check out my flickr page for two new videos that I know you’ll enjoy!

New video. It’s pretty hilarious, in my opinion. Again, if the video box shows the video is private, just click on the flickr link in the video box and it will take you to my flickr page, where you can view the video to your heart’s content. You’ll be glad you did.

Well, we got some video recently of Cooper enjoying (or not enjoying, as the case may be occasionally) his dinner meal this past Sunday. He sure is cute, this kid. Nana thinks he looks like a baby bird waiting for his mommy to give him a worm with the way he keeps his mouth open whilst waiting for the next bite of food.

Note: I know the video box says the video is private. It’s not. It’s public, but for whatever reason, wordpress or flickr reads it as private. The first flickr video I posted said that for a day or two as well, but now it works fine. If it continues to say that the video is private, simply click on the video box and it should open the video on my flickr page. Sorry for the hassle. This should be remedied soon, I should think.

So we’ve been making a concerted effort to teach Cooper how to clap. Nana started it, and we’ve tried to keep up. Cooper is doing pretty well, as you can see in the video.

Cooper’s first drive
Originally uploaded by Cubs Daddy
So after lots of research and several test drives, we decided it was time to buy a new car. Quite frankly, we have outgrown Ashley’s sporty Cavalier, Edgar. Cooper requires a car seat larger than the stroller bucket/car seat combo and, try as we might, we have not been successful putting the big boy car seat in Edgar’s back seat.
We’re in the process of trying to sell Edgar, and we’ve listed him on Craig’s list. We had one interested party take Edgar for a test drive and we’ve got another appointment tomorrow, so hopefully we’ll be able to sell the car within a week.
Anyway, we picked up the car Monday night up in St. Joseph, MO, where we had found the vehicle (that’s another long story). We even got a good deal on the car, so we’re very pleased about that. And, as you can see, Cooper likes it a lot. We’ve got a bunch more photos of the vehicle (and Cooper, of course) if you click on the photo.

Cooper likes hiking

Cooper had his 6 month appointment yesterday. He weighed in at 20 lbs. 1 oz. and was 27 3/4 inches long, both in the 83rd percentile. He was declared in good health by Dr. Loveland, for which we are very grateful.
This picture is from our excursion to the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, which we visited on Sunday morning. We did not have time to take the tram up to the top, but we did visit the museum below the Arch and took a bunch of pictures of the Arch. Click on the photo to see more, if you so desire.
BTW, special thanks to Krista and Kendrick (and Cameron) Blackwood for the use of their baby backpack (showing in the photo above). That thing has been SO helpful these last few weeks. Cooper really likes hanging out in it, too.
